In the begging of the chapter the students and the residence hall get the news about the death of their class mate. obviously they're all a little shaken up about the news but heather doesnt stick around for a melt down. as she nears her apartment she sees her ex-feance, Jordan whos parents were the owners of the record company that dropped her from their label all those years ago.he comes back to try and win her back but heather just think that he is trying to make her miserable. when she finally gets inside with jordan still tying to convince her to take him back she is met by cooper, Jordan's older brother who is known as the balck she of the family. cooper offerd her a place to live after she decided to leave jordan when she walked in on him and a nother girl and she said she has never felt so at home! secretly she is in love with cooper but hes only interested in high educated girls so she's planning to ask him out as soon as she gets her doctorate degree.

Now that all of the administrator are at the hall and the corner has pronounced the girl dead rachel heathers boss is given the lovely job of calling the dead girls famliy. meanwhile heather is talking to one of the school directors and they were discussing how that it is so weird that the corner had said that the girl had been dead for at least 12 hours yet no one reported it. then heather started thinking why the security gard wouldn't have seen or heard any thing since he knows about whats happening in the building better that the directors. also heather feels really uncomfertyabl...she keeps looking around and noticing that peple are staring at here and wispering. their talking about how strange it is to see an ex-teenpop singer working at a residence hall of a college.

The book im reading is called size 12 is not fat. im only at starting the 4th chapter but i already like it 20 times more then the last book i read...any book is better than that one. but any ways, in the first three chapters heather ( the main character) is faced with two totally different problems the first is that poeple just dont seem to et that size 12 isnt fat and that she is the average sze and and american woman."as i frequently remind rachel, size 12 is not fat. its i s the size of the average american woman. hello. and there are plenty of us (size 12s) who have boyfriends thank you very much"(p25). her second problem is a little more serious. she works in a resident hall or a "dorm" at NYC and she is suppose to watch over the kids and make sure they all take care of themselves but one saturday she gets a call from her boss rachel and gets the news that one of the kids has die...

Vocab....
(p.1)partition-a structure dividing a space into two parts
(p.8)hysteria-exaggerated or uncontrollable emotion or excitement
Figurative Language...
(p.1)-"exactly LIKE a chipunk."
(p.6)-"that might LIKE a dream."
(p.13)-"Christina Aguilera look AS if she's gone au natural"
Quote...
(p.8)-" heather, im calling yu to let you know that there has been a death in the building." this is the message that her boss rachel leaves her telling her that someone has died and is the beging of the story.
An emerging theme that i am starting to see in the book is that there is a lot of mysteries and secrets in the book that will unfold as i keep reading!

The Sea Inside

1. My reaction to the film is that i really liked it. it was a similar story to the diving belll and the butterfly but it kept my intreats more maybe because it was in spanish! i understand why ramon was asking for assistance in suicide not from personal experience but just that after living like that for 28 years or so i would want to die as well and would want a more dignified way go sie. i think the courts response to hi splea was just them doing more want that knoew was right by law but they might have realized that it was time for him to die and be free. i think that his friends that were willing to help him weren't crazy or what ever but just wanted to see him happy because they were the ones who saw him struggle everyday.
2. The Sea Inside and the Diving Bell and the Butterfly are in many ways alike and different. in the sea inside it focuses more on that ramon wants to die and move on when in the diving bel and the butterfly bulby still had hope that he would get better and be able to move. but they were the same because obviously they were but quadriplegic and had people that loved them and both thier mind were still free as a butterfly.
3. They seemed to use close up shots to show that what the person was saying was important. then in most of the shots with two or more people there were median shots so you could get a better understanding of what was going on in the seen. there was not vary many long shots but the one that i personally really liked was when ramon day dreamed he was flying and it showed the land beneath him and kind of used fire hosing to show it as well. another technique they used was when ramon was leaving him family in the truck they shot from above to give it more of a sad pitiful tone to it when his nefue was chasing the van.

This chapter was about when she ment the donald and her experiences at some of her first black tie partys....
she first met the donald when one of the people she does business with gave her tickets for something in the same box as the donald. she describe him to be generous but in a more flashy look at me kind of way and that he was really into him self and thought he was a big deal. the second time she ment him she was with a group of beauty editor and they went in his jet and all he talked about was his 3million dollar amour. when he was bored with that he invited her and one other editor it to the cockpit of the jet to see it land and she said that that was really cool! the other part of the chapter i said was about the black tie partys she went to. she started out nervous not knowing what to do and all she really remembers is the TERRIBLE makeovers she got and going to the partys and having her friends not even recognize her. she also ruined a dress but then got it dry clean, she wined about that for like a whole page....

I know i have been saying this alot in my resent blogs but its the truth this book is stupid and has absolutely no point or story line which is annoying. this chapters was how people in the fashion and beauty industry say anything to convince you you look good wearing there stuff. she told a story about sometimes the people she is interviewing wil put the make up on her then suggest that she take a picture to show her how "good" she looks but she never thinks it looks like her because by the time she gets the picture back it has been heavily air brushed making it not even look like her. she also talks about these things called acne breakfasts where scientists talk about the "active" ingredient in the cream lotion or what ever and then have some one with a french ascent to explain it more to make it seem more scientific .

this book still isn't getting any better...
Now she is discussing how people throw so much time, money celebrities and money at a product but no matter how it looks or whos selling it to you if its a bad product its a bad product. there was a party her and her now husband went to thrown by her boss who had gone throgh more plastic surgery than any 60/70 year old had. but when asked her husband said that her boss was attractive. proving another one of her theories that you can dress the bottle up how ever you please but if it's not good than it's not good.

What I've read so far is a little hard to understand, im still not sure if I like the book or not. Jean has this idea that no matter what people say about the products they use or how much of them they use everyone loves them, from the people who carrie 4 different lipstick to the people who feel almost embarrass to admit that they wear make up. something that I liked was when she said " maybe french women simply don't feel guilty about being a little vain". She thinks its silly how people fell this way about the the fact that they wear make up.each day she recives tons of beautiy products from companys hoping to get in the latest issue of the magazine. does better packaging really mean better product? some time the generic and drug store brands work better and somethimes not. its more about how they make you feel not necessarily how they make you look.

Title: I Am Not My Body
"I am your fellow human being and, like you, I am so much more than a body."
This story inspired me to want to try and see people and have people see me for who we and not what we look like or disabilities we may have. it reminded me that just because some one might have a physical or mental disibilaty they are still a person with thoughts feeling and just want to be accepted like everyone else.
