this chapter was about growing up and trying to feel "normal" like when she started high school and frter being invisibal in jounior high her annd her friend decided to do a make over and be like the other girls in school."we arrived on the first day of high school, completely and utterly new girls."(.48) it was hard with two parents who were anti-glamor and then not being accepted in to her new husbands family made her feel weird to. she also talks about the jobs she had in advertisement and as a free lance journalist before ELLE.
